The BLOG is Back in Town!

As we gear up for the 2018 Gala in the Garden this Saturday night, we will have a great time no matter what mother nature has planned! We also want to take a moment to extend our sincere thanks to so many who support this event and thus, the mission and vision of Historic Sotterley.

We are a different kind of non-profit, as we rely 100% on philanthropic support through donated funds, grants, and special events. As with all of our events, the Gala in the Garden will allow ...

... for children to visit, explore, and learn ...
... for food to be donated to those in need in our community ...
... for the continued sharing of our important stories.

YOU help these things to happen through sponsorship, donations, volunteering, and attending events! Thank you all!

With Gratitude

Delicious veggies, grow-at-home herb plants, fresh-cut flowers, outdoor furnishings, birdhouses, floral hanging baskets, and so much more! With the opening of the Sotterley Farmer’s Market on May 23rd, we are delighted to see some of our ‘regulars’ from last year and to welcome so many first-timers! Now in its second year, our producer only Farmer’s Market is open for business every Saturday through September 26th from 8:00 a.m. – Noon, rain or shine. In addition to what we grow here at Sotterley, we also feature the best homegrown and handcrafted items from our Southern Maryland community.

Keep your shopping momentum going at our newly redesigned Museum Shop inside the Visitor Center, where we have a terrific selection of gift items. Thinking about extending your stay? Great! Check in, take a seat to view our introductory video, sign up for a guided house tour and/or a self-guided audio tour, and stroll among the blooms in our Colonial Revival Gardens. If you’re up for something a little more physically challenging, enjoy our over six miles of hiking trails – along with your best furry friend (on a leash, please).
